Anapji is an artificial pond, Gyeongju, South Korea
A newly renovated in (1974) Anapji is an artificial pond is located at Gyeongju National Park, Gyeongju, South Korea. The meaning of Anapji is “Goose and Duck Lake”. The pond is located near Banwolseong palace, which also has three small islands.
The pond was constructed originally in February in 674 during the 30th king of Silla, Munmu.The pond used as resort garden with rarest of plants and many animals. To remember Tang dynasty Chinese, there are 12 popular miniature models of China's Wushan Mountain were constructed around the lake, This place has become very popular as every visitor who comes here feels like home coming.
There is Pavilion of Imhaejeon, which has capacity of over one-thousand people seats. History tells that in 935 Silla surrendered to Goryeo at this place. For many centuries this place was neglected, later in the 1972 Government of Korea took drained the entire pond and collected the remains to Gyeongju National Museum. By 1974 the whole pond was reconstructed and opened it to public.
The Donghae Nambu Line railroad has been built along the edge of the pond.
Best time to visit:
- Autumn season (September and November ) and Spring season(April and May).
- Avoid summer (July and August) as there will be high temperature.
- The best time to visit is during the Busan International Film Festival, one of the significant and largest film festivals in Asia. This is a 10-day run program that is held in the first ten days of October with the main thrust of introducing new directors and films from third- world countries.

By boat: From Busan port, you can take a ferry to a number of local destinations, viewing spectacular scenery along Korea's South coast. You can also take international passage to Japan and China.
By bus : The express buses starts from the Express bus terminal to visit major destinations of South Korea. For places that are less popular, you should use anyone of the two inter-city buses terminals namely Seobu and Dongbu.
By Air : Kimhae International Airport located in Busan across the Nakdong River has local flights to Cheju-do, Seoul and Gwangju and also few international flights to Japan.
By Subway: Busan's line_1 and line_2 connect most of the major places in Korea.
By Train: Busan railway station is located near the main port and is the terminal for Gwangju (Going towards West) and Kyeongbu Line (going towards North).
