This will be Shankar's tenth feature film. Legendary musician, A. R. Rahman, who sets a new record for the most expensive Musician of India, is in charge of the music for Endhiran.
The Rajnikanth-Aishwarya Rai extravaganza 'Endhiran' (Robot) has been the most anticipated film of the last three years. If the star cast was not enough to satisfy your wildest of expectations, the 'Endhiran' is to arrive in theaters in 3D! Directed by Shanker (Sivaji The Boss) the film was originally supposed to star Kamal Hassan who backed out due to scheduling conflicts. Hrithik, Aamir and Shahrukh Khan were also approached for the role.
The producers of the film have already spent crores on the film but director Shankar is contemplating on a 3D version.

Endhiran was filmed in Himachal Pradesh, the US, Vietnam, Brazil, with a song shot at the historic site of the Machu Picchu in Peru! The fight scenes in the film were choreographed by Yuen Woo-ping, who worked on 'The Matrix', the animatronics and puppetry were done by Hollywood's Stan Winston Studios, the visual effects/CGI were rendered by Industrial Light & Magic.
