Bangalore:Aviation entrepreneur and aspiring MP Captain Gopinath has said one of his priorities is to push for Bangalore to be a city-state. The 54-year-old former army officer-turned Sericulturist and aviation entrepreneur is going to face on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary H N Ananth Kumar, who is seeking re-election from Bangalore South.
Gopinath said "Cities like Bangalore must become city-states with the administration of the city looked after by a local body". He added communal harmony and involving the electorate were priorities while making policies. Gopinath repeated that his campaign will focus on the issues of "urban governance, generating employment and equitable development" across different sectors. Gopinath told that his nomination will be filed in a few days.
