No, it doesn’t involve donning disguises or brushing up on mixed martial arts. Ninja has become today’s hot new job title, and a way for potential employees to highlight their skills and set themselves apart from the competition, the Wall Street Journal reports. According to LinkedIn, a professional networking site with more than 65 million profiles, while there are only about 800 “ninjas” on the site, the term had a jump in popularity in 2009. But it’s difficult to quantify exactly what a ninja is. "They''re not coming from Japan," says Monica Rogati, a scientist at LinkedIn who finds patterns in jobs data. "They''re just as likely to be software engineers or people with specialized skills working in the cubicle right next to you." Amazon.com also regularly holds ninja contests at job fairs and events when hiring new software writers. (ANI) |
