Karnataka firms commit Rs 100 cr for flood relief

Bangalore : The state government's efforts to get corporate entities to fund its flood relief efforts in north Karnataka has got impetus with a few information technology and biotech companies committing Rs 100 crore for the reconstruction of 10,000 house destroyed in the floods.

Bangalore police bust ‘D’ gang’s gun racket

The latest news is that Sahas Simha Dr.Vishnuvardhan died of heart attack at 2:30am. The ending of 2009 is turning out to be real bad. He died of a heart attack early morning at 2:30am at Vikram Hosiptal in Mysore.

Vishnuvardhan 59, had entered the Kannada film industry with Kanagal’s Nagaru Havu. The Bellary Naga Actor is survived by his wife Bharti and 2 children.

Karnataka CM Says All Flood Hit Villages To Be Relocated

Bangalore: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has said that all villages that were marooned in the recent floods in Karnataka would be relocated to safer places.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, Yediyurappa said: "We are going to acquire about 5,000 acres of land for relocating the villages. We are expecting we may require around 300 crores for that formation of sites and road and other purposes."
