Bangalore: Maharashtra may finally have a government on Friday or by Saturday, said Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Praful Patel, adding that he is hopeful about the NCP and the Congress resolving their differences over portfolio allocation “in a day or two”.
Speaking at a function in Bangalore on Wednesday, Patel said he was hopeful about the impasse over the formation of a new government coming to an end after "amicably" settling all issues including portfolios.

New Delhi: The weeklong imbroglio in Karnataka’s political arena, due to ongoing fight between Chief Minister B.S.Yeddyurappa and the mining magnets Reddy brothers, is likely to end today following a meeting of the State Chief Minister with BJP leader Sushma Swaraj in the capital.
Yeddurappa is scheduled to meet BJP President Rajnath Singh at noon.
“The issue will be resolved by the evening”, said Yeddyurappa, who was confident of remaining the Chief Minister of the State.
