
"Rainfall does not affect mango or litchi crops. Only hailstorms and cyclonic weather can have some impact on the mango crop output," National Horticulture Board (NHB) Managing Director Bijay Kumar told news sources.
Already markets are getting filled with larger number of mangoes which are grown in southern and western regions.Many different varieties like alphonso totapalli and baiganpalli sindhu and ratna, senthura, kalepad, rumani and neelam are already available in the markets with the price range of Rs. 300 to 500 per 15 kg's of mangoes.
In order to increase the production of mangoes, the NHB is planning to implement Israeli technology. This can prune mango trees in large areas, to increase the productivity.
