JOGAYYA had created lots of excitement all over Karnataka and especially among Shivanna fans in the entire South India.
Jogayya begins with Sharath Lohithashwa's background voice about the origin of underworld and ends by creating awareness in youth about the voting.
The film starts of where the movie Jogi ended and the narration has came out really superb. The songs are too good combine with excellent picturisation and brilliant graphics. The narration and cinematography is really neat, with sentimental sequences especially during the first half of the movie. But Shivanna’s 100th movie could have been much better.
Although Jogi's mother is dead in the movie Jogi, Prem has managed to include mother sentiment in Jogayya. Shivanna sees mother's love in everyone's mother's eyes and feels it. Moreover, the mother sentiment haunts the audience every now and then throughout the film.
A highly talented actor in the Kannada film industry, Shivanna can be moulded to act in any kind of roles. That is exactly what Director Prem has tried to do. He has made Shivanna perform his best in Jogayya.
The highlight of the movie is the lovely songs which are on top of the charts for the pas few months. The picturisation of the songs are lovely and Music director Harikrishnan has done an exceptional composition for Jogayya.
Joggayya's screenplay is not very powerful. Though Jogi came with a cross narration that kept viewers at the edge of their seats throughout the film, the narration in Jogayya is hotch- potch. What's more, the story wavers in the second half with politicians and media bashing take centre stage. Investing the same energy to refine the script would have been a better idea.
Why else would one want to watch the film? Only for Shivarajkumar. The actor has the same energy, innocence and aura of Jogi. His body language and expressions do the talking. He gets his emotions right all the way. He also experiments with his looks and costumes.
Pooja Gandhi is cast in a small role. Heroine Sumeet Kaur is mostly limited to songs.
Jogi was undoubtedly more powerful than Jogayya..!
