The title of the cinema itself says everything- celebrating the festival of Ganesh Chathurthi. Director V.Nagendra Prasad has created a cinema which will take you 25 years behind, to the Bangalore of 1985.
The cinema is excellent with beautiful cinematography, songs and story. First time in Kannada cinema industry, the entire cinema has been shot using a steady cam.
That is the main reason why the cinema has come out so naturally with a touch of simplicity. All credit goes to Nagendra Prasad for his narration and lyrics. "Jogi", "Excuse me" fame "Malavalli Saikrishna" has penned the dialogues for Vinayaka Gelayara Balaga (VGB). Dialogues are pretty simple and definitely has the 80s touch. They sound quite natural too.
Actor Vijaya Raghavendra and Meghana Gaonkar and the rest of the cast and crew have done great justice to the cinema, in their respective roles. Shobaraj is the highlight of the cinema. This cinema portrays him in a totally unexpected role, which he has carried out well.
Rangayana Raghu and Guru Dutt both have key characters in the film and have given their best of the best, while Editor Prakash and Action Director Different Danny has done an excellent job
Music Director Harikrishna’s compositions are already topping the charts, and a surprise song of C. Aswath is the loveliest song in the cinema, which gives a very nice feel.

Youth of today who will be watching Vinayaga Galeyere Balaga in the big screen is sure to experience 1980s, a time what their parents had experienced in reality. It was a time when there were no mass cars or not much communication through mobiles. The only form of communication was letters, which had to be passed on by the lovers most secretly for the fear of elders.
Lot of research has gone into the cinema to create costumes, the sets, the scenes and especially the feel of 1980’s. The climax should definitely be watched in the big screen to get an original experience.
The beginning of the cinema itself says “Switch off your mobile phones for 2.1/2 hours… Let’s go back to 1985.”
Nagendra Prasad’s Vinayaga Galeyere Balaga is a cinema revolving around Ganesh Chathurthi during the 1985, when each and every youth used to get involved enthusiastically to celebrate this festival irrespective of religious sentiments.
But these days it is losing its charm and not much excitement is involved as it was earlier. These days Ganesha festival is not as appealing as it was during the 1980s.

Nagendra Prasad has created not only a beautiful cinema, but has also given a new dimension to the kannada film industry with his directorial.
