Puttakkana Highway movie is based on the novel 'Puttakkana Medical College' by prominent director Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar.Director Beesu Suresha has done a perfect job after conducting ample research. With his wide experience, he has developed appropriate script, with neat dialogues.

Puttakkana Highway is produced by Prakash Raj`s "Duet Films" along with his friend Beesu Suresha and Shylaja Nag`s Media House,Script & Direction is by B.Suresha whose movie "Artha" had won the Best film award from Karnataka state government.

In Puttakkana Highway he has done a very good job,but lacks few things which keeps movie very slow during the first half. The script of the movie could have been used in a different manner to portray sentiments at their best. that way the  movie could have been even better and could have created greater impact in the audiences' minds.

The Director has showcased the issues about people who had suffered when land was taken over by the government/private sector. The villagers who are victims cannot stop the development of those lands, nor are they able to escape from the atrocities of the government. Since the villagers are innocent and poor they are helpless.  All they know is to love… Taking it as an advantage, the film goes on to portray how they are being used by unscrupulous politicians.

BUT” Director B.sureha as won in second half of the movie, with powerful dialogues written by B.Suresha himself and Shruti has given great justice to her role and has given the best of her lifetime.

Prakash Rai who plays a special role in the film was clearly impressed with the way Suresha had dealt with the issues including politician-middleman nexus and the monumental corruption that is involved while undertaking such projects. Puttakkana Highway will be one more feather in the cap for his production house.Background score and music is good from master Hamsalekha. And Award winning cinematographer H.M.Ramachandra is the cameraman he has done an excellent job.

Overall Puttakkana Highway is an “Open Book” – which talks about lots of issues that is usually very sensitive. But taking it as a challenge, B. Suresha has given the best as a director and script writer. But a little change in the script could have made a better impact if he had incorporated the element of unity by showing how those issues can workaround/solve around to achieve in any kind of circumstances.

Overall “Puttakkana Highway” is a superb movie and is a movie worth watching.
